A comprehensive eye exam is like a checkup for your eyes. During your visit, your eye doctor will run a series of tests to find out how well you see, if you need glasses or contact lenses, and if there are any other problems with your eyes.

One of the tests may require your doctor to dilate your eyes, opening your pupils. This can make it difficult to see for a few hours after your exam. You may want to ask someone to help you get home safely after your appointment.

This is also a chance to talk to your eye doctor about any questions or concerns you may have.
